Research interests
Bio:
I went to Korea University in South Korea for my undergraduate study in Geography Education and for MA in Geography. My research interests has been the underlying processes of infectious disease transmission, and the disease control failure cases that I had encountered in my home country serve as a starting point for my interests in medical geography. My personal experiences in the Korea Army Geospatial-Intelligence Agency enable me to become acquainted with handling satellite images. Also, I am developing a deep understanding of statistics & spatial statistics, which allows me to conduct ecological research for infectious diseases. Now I am pursuing a PhD in Geography with a focus on landscape genetics.
Research Interests:
My research interests involve the process of disease transmission by applying a landscape genetics approach. Now I am working on spatio-temporal patterns of Influenza A subtype H1N1 in China, 2008 - 2009 using genetic sequences of viral samples. To solve this research question, I am trying to investigate phylogenetic trees and its network structure at the same time.
