Bennett Cournoyers Bio GEOG3540

My name is Bennett Cournoyer and I am from LeClaire Iowa. I am currently in the Masters of Sciences in Business Analytics program at the Univeristy of Iowa. I graduated with a BSE in Biomedical Engineering in 2021. I currently work as a GIS analyst for the UIowa Flood Center. I am passionate about enviromental conservation and hydrologic resource managment. I am interested in GIS geospatial analysis and machine learnign. I want to use my skills in engineering and analytics to inform conservation and prevention techniques. During Undergrad I was in the Hawkeye Marching Band playing Sousaphone. In my free time I enjoy biking, woodworking, jiu-jitsu, playing bass, playing with my dog and cats, card games, Mariokart 8, and painting. This summer, I went to Oregon to be a Wildland Firefighter with Grayback Forestry. I fought the Slate, Backbone, Rafael, Bootleg, and Roughpatch Fires.
