I was born and raised in Jingzhou, Hubei province, which locates in middle southern China. I went to Wuhan University for my bachelor's degree in geographic science. During my junior year, I have had the chance to study at University of California, Santa Barbara, and took courses in geography there. My research interest is mainly on health geography, more specifically, how epidemic diseases evolve across space and how that affects human wellbeing. This interest actually originates from my family. My mother works at local Center for Disease Control and Prevention in my hometown, and my father is a doctor, which gave chance to have easy access to the knowledge of situations of multiple kinds of epidemic diseases in my hometown. And that has triggered my interest in using my own knowledge to help in the public health career. I am currently a MA student majoring in geography here at Uiowa.
