I’m a Ph.D. student in the department of Geographic and Sustainability Sciences. I received my B.S. in Microbiology and Genetics from Iowa State University and my MPH with an emphasis on biostatistics from the University of Michigan. Prior to starting this program, I worked as a Medical Laboratory Scientist specializing in clinical microbiology and molecular virology. My research interests center around antibiotic resistant bacteria and understanding the source of resistance and what drives the dissemination of antibiotic resistance genes throughout the environment. When I’m not on campus I enjoy running, plannng backpacking adventures, and exploring with my two adorable dogs, Seve and Maureen.
