Coordinated Views for analyzing multivariate relationships

This data shows percentage of crimes committed at the county level. The plot reveals that the highest percentage of violent crimes occurs in the eastern part of the state (with the highest percentage going to id 129, with nearly .8 percent of crimes committed being violent). As the percentage of violent crimes decreases, there appears to be a notable increase in larcency. The percentage of crimes that are murder is, predictably, low across the state, but again the highest percentage of murders occurs in the eastern part of the state, with county id 532 having nearly .2 of crimes committed result in murder. The percentage of crimes committed resulting in rape is also relatively low, but when it does happen it correlates strongly with counties that show higher percentages of violence and theft. Burglary also shows a strong correlation with violence and theft, but it is far more common than rape. As indicated, the highest percentage of crimes committed is related to theft and larceny, many of which are also violent.
